My Favorite Bible Promises

There are many Bible Promises that have made a difference in my life through the years. Below, you will find a few of my all-time favorites.

The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. (Psalm 103:8-12, NLT)

Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31, NLT)

Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Don’t tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories … I am the Lord your God. I am holding your hand, so don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. (Isaiah 41:10 & 13, CEV)

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. (Philippians 4:6-7, the Message)

Romans, Our Sermon Series

This Sabbath we will continue our sermon series on the book of Romans with a sermon titled The Wonderful Promise, Part 3, based on Romans 8. To download a PDF copy of the last sermon in this series titled The Wonderful Promise, Part 2, click here. Here are some questions you may wish to consider as you read these chapters.

    • What is your favorite promise from this chapter? Why is it important to you?
    • Do you live like you believe Romans 8:31-39 is true? Why or why not?

Take Time To Pray: from 24-7 Prayer

"Look to the Lord and his strength.
Seek his face always"
- Psalm 105:4 -

Focus on God by taking time to seek His face today. Try one of these simple prompts:

    • Where is God working in my life? Take time to identify a place, area or relationship where you can see God's presence at work.
    • What is God saying to me at the moment? Take time to listen, or to read through your journal for themes and promptings from the Holy Spirit.
    • How can I show God to those around me? Ask for guidance, or pray for an opportunity to share your relationship with God with the world, today.

Have a wonderful week! To visit their website, click here.

From Bible Gateway’s Weekly Brief

Grace Beautifies the Broken Road: Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts and author of Shotgun Angels: My Story of Broken Roads and Unshakable Hope, says, "Grace covers you. It carries you. It helps heal you when you’ve fallen. Grace beautifies the broken road. You and I – we’re flawed, broken, and screwed up, but it doesn’t matter. Once you accept Jesus as your Savior, you’re sealed with his blood. And there’s nothing on this earth that can separate you from his love …" (Click here to read more.)

Verified Volunteers – Child Protection Screening

In cooperation with the Kansas Nebraska Conference, we are working with Verified Volunteers to provide background checks and on-line education for our church officers and everyone who works with our children. This helps ensure that we have some training to help us recognize and avoid situations that would put our children at risk. In addition to our elected Church Officers, everyone who works with Pathfinders and Adventurers, Children’s or Youth Sabbath School Classes, Children’s Church, and VBS must go through this training and submit to a background check (there is no cost to you). It will take about an hour of your time.

To download a PDF page of instructions and links to help you through this process, click here. To go to the website where you begin this process, click here and then select First-Time Registrant and follow the instructions. For more information, contact Pastor T (e-mail or 402-517-5333).
